Module overview
As we move deeper into the 21st century, there is no doubt that neuroscience and advancements in brain mapping and brain scanning will have an increasing impact on teaching. We are seeing a gradual revolution in the impact of neuroscience on education. We live in a special time where neuroscience, cognitive science, behavioural psychology, and pedagogy are starting to intertwine. Teachers will no longer have the option of thinking that neuroscience and Mind-Brain Education is only for the science teacher. All teachers will be expected to be neuro teachers.
This module considers some of the myths and misconceptions associated with brain-based learning and also examines the importance of neuroplasticity in the field of teaching and learning.
